A Rest To God's People "Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest , any of you should seem to come short of it." [Heb 4:1]
I do believe entering into God's rest is going to be the key of getting through these unchartered waters that are ahead of us. We are now living in the days where devastating global events are taken place. The fear would be not entering into God's rest. God was grieved with the children of Israel being in the wilderness for forty years. Hebrews 3:7-12 says; "Wherefore ( as the Holy Ghost saith, Today if ye will hear my voice. Harden not your hearts, as in the provacation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness ; When your fathers tempted me , proved me and saw my works forty years. Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. So I sware in my wrath. They shall not enter into my rest.) Take heed brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God." Is God the living God in your life? How do we obtain this rest in God? Well, God gives us the answer. It begins with you. Heb 3:4-6 says: "For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God. And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testamony of these things which were to be spoken after; But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end." So our house (our belief) is built by God through his son Jesus Christ. We maintain the confidence and the hope that is whithin us. But within our being (our house) we are justified freely by God's grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. So you see,"For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. John 1:17" Its our confidence in believing in God and being obedient to his voice that will keep us through turbulent times. That is entering into his rest. It's, " Today if we ye will hear his voice." Its your unbelief that will keep you from not entering into his rest. God's word says; Harden not your hearts..... [Heb 3:8]. "But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be harden through the deceitfulness of sin.Heb 3:13" I am not talking about a rest that there is no physical work. This is more of a spiritual rest, resting in God with confidence and hearing his voice for direction and guidance. God will have a people with this spirit upon them. People will wonder why aren't you so fearful and distraught. These people of God will give them an answer. It will be faith in God (that they will have) to obtain entering into his rest. So, how do we obtain to enter into his rest? Heb 4:10 says; "For he that is enter into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his." Ceasing from our own works isn't just resting on the seventh day, our own works is our own actions and thoughts. Do it God's way. We need to work , labor towards God. "Lets us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." [Heb 4:11-12] Lets labor to enter into his rest . If we seek the Lord thy God we will find him. If we seek him with all our heart and with all our soul. The Lord thy God is a merciful God. "For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Today if we will hear his voice." [Psalms 95:7] We hear alot of talk concerning being in the last days. Whether it is in our life time or not,we still need to be close to God. Our aim is to walk with him. We are to pay attention to the prophets of the past. As the Day of the Lord approaches, I believe the Holy Ghost will inform us. Hebrews 1:2 mentions, "the last days." The Lord showed me these scriptures concerning, "the last days." It was during the times of Moses. We know Moses was under the law. But this scripture stands true for us today by the Holy Ghost. Some insight concerning," the last days." Guidance from the Lord. Please read; [Deut 4:29-31] also, [Acts 2:17] God bless. Watch and pray. This is a Voice ministries message. February 2010
